Current Role Working with Athletes
I currently treat cross fitters from 5 local boxes and work on maintaining their bodies or rehabbing them back to lifting. I am able to modify what my athletes do at our box when I am coaching them to allow them to work out in a safe manner and work around their injury. I feel that I can monitor their progress through coaching and then performing bodywork detailed to their injury. I then educate the athlete on their condition and how they can maintain on their own the power to heal themselves.
I feel that the body will heal itself, it may just need some assist in the right direction. Chronic pain is not normal and once the joints, muscles are allowed to move in the way they are supposed to move the pain lessens. The brain also realizes that it is ok to move then movement becomes more fluid and less guarded.
mobility without stability is dangerous.
