Athletic & Training Background

My athletic and training background includes playing Rugby at a competitive level throughout college and university. Since leaving university I have focused my energy into working with rugby teams and individual players; rather than play competitively. 

I now specifically train for weightlifting with the hope of optimising my movement but also athletic development through the Snatch, Clean and Jerk.

Current Role Working with Athletes

Currently I am working with a variety of elite athletes by means of the facility that I work within (MSC Performance). These athletes range from Great Britain American Footballers and Ultimate Frisbee players. I also coach at novice to national level weightlifters at a weightlifting club twice a week. 

Currently I am working with a national level rugby team as their strength coach. The coaching process proceeds with fitness testing at regular intervals, individual monitoring and periodised programming.

Professional Philosophy

Within my treatment, you can expect to be rebuilt as a balanced athlete with a strong foundational structure. This should be achieved by stripping an athlete down to challenge developmental positions. I like my athletes to be re-educated to move “more like a human” before they progress onto more complex tasks such as squatting, deadlifting or pressing.

I strongly believe that breathing and bracing should be mastered before any external load is applied to perfect position and movement. I not only want to treat an athlete’s symptoms, but also teach them valuable tools that I have learnt throughout my career. “Live, Learn and Teach” is the motto that I live by. 

My personal business “Bulletproof Coaching” focuses on a hierarchy of modalities consisting of movement, performance and recovery to provide an overall service to an athlete. I am also involved in “The Archon Project” which aims to up skill trainers and coaches through monthly online instalments along with teaching at workshops throughout the country.
