Athletic & Training Background

I played two years of college volleyball followed by two years of USA Volleyball. I coached volleyball for 3 years. I started running in college and ran my first marathon shortly after graduating from undergrad. I began competing in triathlons during chiropractic college, and completed a half-iron distance triathlon with my husband on our wedding day. I qualified for and competed in the USAT Age Group National Championships in 2012, which was the same year I started CrossFit. I continued CrossFit through my pregnancy, which was when I got involved with BIRTHFIT.

Current Role Working with Athletes

I treat a lot of competitive CrossFit athletes, competitive weightlifters, collegiate and amateur athletes. A large part of my practice is working with athletes who become pregnant and are interested in continuing their fitness routine through pregnancy and postpartum. I teach courses for BIRTHFIT for the preconception, prenatal, and postpartum periods. I also treat a lot of the athletes at my CrossFit gym, as well as conduct workshops/seminars on improving mobility and stability.

Professional Philosophy

The underlying theme of most of my work is that movement is life. Oftentimes patients are told to stop whatever movement hurts them, but I prefer to improve movements so that they can be continued and quality of life can be improved.
