Athletic & Training Background

Played high school basketball and basketball with the usual high school awards - all conference, all area, etc. Decided to focus on academics in college despite having a few JUCO basketball offers.

An avid weekend warrior for the last 15 years who regularly strength trains 3-4 times per week. At the ripe age of 33, sports a 34" standing VJ, 27.8 200m, 485lb deadlift, and 275lb bench press at a body weight of 183lbs with a BF% of 10.7%, a total testosterone level of 763 ng/dl, fasting insulin of 3.0 uIU/ml, and HDL of 80 mg/dL while being a father, husband, and owner of 3 gyms and a compounding pharmacy.

Current Role Working With Athletes

Currently train high school, college, and overseas professional athletes, as well as offer consulting services for biomarker evaluation and functional medicine to amateur athletes.

As an owner of 3 gyms and a compounding pharmacy that specializes in sports medicine, my role varies wildly throughout the year. A typical day may start with analyzing an athlete's blood lab data and recommending nutritional and supplement interventions to improve performance, then I may help a sports medicine physician create acustom compounded pain cream that minimizes drowsiness and stomach irritation for an athlete, and I'll finish the day training a high school basketball player.

Professional Philosophy

From a sports medicine perspective, my treatment philosophy hinges on improving objective data that improves performance on the field.  I ask myself a simple question - How can I make this athlete better? And through the above equation, I usually find the right answer. I work from the inside-out. I look for nutrient deficiencies, hormone abnormalities, gut dysfunction, and organ inefficiencies. I help the athletes fix those, optimize their biomarkers, and hopefully improve performance.

From a pain perspective, I try to help athletes best manage their pain with prescription medication and supplements without impairing performance and/or the altering the HPT axis.

Assess. Prescribe. Evaluate. Reassess. Track. Repeat.
