Athletic & Training Background

Sports have always been a part of life; I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada playing baseball, soccer, and hockey. In 1997 hockey became my main focus and favorite sport to play. Going through various life changes sport began to change for me, and in 2009 I began training with CrossFit as my main regime. In October 2009 I became a CrossFit Level 1 coach and have since coached at various gyms, the most notable being CrossFit Max Effort in Las Vegas and Black Iron Gym in Reno which is my current home.

Current Role Working with Athletes

Currently I work with athletes on a daily basis, whether it's a high school athlete who needs to return to pitching, or a daily CrossFitter who values his training day as a day to better his life and health. Everyone is an athlete at something, at some point, in one way or another. It's our job as health professionals to keep them in the mindset that an injury is a treatable, preventable, and manageable.

Professional Philosophy

My professional philosophy is looking at movement as a whole. You can't get anywhere by training parts, life isn't about parts... Life is about patterns. That pattern may be as simple as standing from a seated position or squatting with 400lbs on your back, but dependent on the phase of life for the person, they can be equally as important. Getting clients and patients to their goals by means of a time efficient and value driven philosophy is always my motivation to seeing people succeed.
